Interested in being a pioneer in the esports world? Looking to develop peak performance from within? Welcome to MIU, home to a unique and holistic training methodology with a documented history of success in esports and traditional sports. At MIU, student-athletes train their zone muscle for more consistent peak performance and joy in their sports. We also train alongside our other student-athletes, with physical, mental, emotional, and identity workshops to grow as human beings on all levels. MIU students come from many places, cultures, and backgrounds, but share a strong commitment to personal inner growth, wellness, and achieving their personal peak performance in a sustainable way. MIU has several unique aspects that create a rich and fulfilling student experience. First, our classes are on the block system, so students only take one class at a time. It's a fantastic schedule that allows our student-athletes to have lots of time directly focused on their subject, and also plenty of time outside of class to train with their team and maintain a healthy daily routine. Dorms are single occupancy, and our cafeteria focuses on healthy foods, much of which is grown locally. Students also learn a meditation technique called Transcendental Meditation, an easy-to-practice and non-religious technique with lots of benefits for training that "zone" experience, along with improving mental performance and releasing stress. MIU esports is led by Owen Blake, Ph.D., a former Performance Coach with Misfits Gaming (Now Team Heretics) League of Legends LEC team. Professor Blake successfully implemented a holistic training style at the highest levels of esports that supports athletes' development in and out of the game.
